My Little Botonist

Every morning my little Araina spends her beginning of the day outside admiring the flowers. She goes from flower to flower like a busy little bumblebee. She brings me armfuls of flowers, then goes straight away to get them water and arranges them herself.

She is also very poetic about the flowers (she loves to make up ditties). Here is her most recent:

Flowers, flowers everywhere,
Flowers, flowers from here to there,
They sit down for a rest,
The bees take their nectar only wanting the best.

Ok, so it's not Shakespeare, but she is only 5. And as you mommies know anything your little one composes is music to your ears!
**Busy day out and about today, will probably post about the flower press tomorrow!

  4. What a cutie she is! She looks so serious in arranging those flowers. The poem is darling. :)

We only have 3 french presses. A standard size 8 cup (which the hubby decided didn't hold enough), a 12 cup, and a 12 oz personal size. It's actually nice to have the two larger ones because sometimes we need one for decaf, one for caf. :)

  5. I love her "ditties"! Sometimes those end up being the best little family songs. How wonderful that your yard is full of fresh flowers for her. :)

  24. How lovely. I started as a botanist and writer very young, as well, and the love of plants (and poetry) never died. I went on to get degrees in both biology/botany and English literature!
