hollowed out acorn squash full of seed, cut up apples and oranges, pinecone peanut butter feeders
Then it was time to get down and dirty! Wow....how much you can learn about a person by how they spread peanut butter on a pinecone!
Something to know about: we are big bird watchers in my family and on Feb. 13 we are going to take part in the Great Backyard Bird Count. It's very easy, all you have to do is observe and record the birds you see in your yard. For more information go to http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc/.
F had to do some research first......

After cleaning up, it was time to make our gifts to the birds available.

That's awesome! I was outside scattering seed for the birds yesterday for a few minutes before I realized my horse was following behind me licking it up. =) I need to make a feeder!
That is a great story! Thanks for sharing....my girls, as did I, got a big kick out of it!
Using a gourd is a marvelous idea!
I love it.
Another fabulous idea! Did you find the birds to like the seeds more or the squash more?
