Toad House for Sale (or How to Make One)

Are you of the warty amphibian family that eats insects? Are you looking for a shady home where food and water is conveniently located? A home that will protect you from the elements and predators? I know of the perfect home!

This home is made from reused plastic flower pots.

It is made of: a plastic pot, rocks, glue gun, glue, and any other goodies found in nature.

The house has been washed and a generous sized door has been cut for the smallest or biggest toad to fit through. The stones have been generously hot glued all around the house, to prevent your home sweet home from blowing away in the wind. The drainage holes also have been covered well with rocks so you won't get wet during a rain shower.

The houses have been decorated by top rate designers. These pro-designers have been in the toad house business for about 3 years now.

Location, location, location! The toad houses for sale are in the perfect location for any toad. We have one tucked under a lily for a habitat that will stay cool and damp through the long hot summer.

We also have one tucked under mint in a bed of decomposing oak leaves. You won't ever have to leave your home to find food if you live here!

The price for living here is free, if you're ok with sweet, toad lovin' little girls admiring you daily! ;)

I don't have any warts, but a "shady house where food and water is conveniently located" sounds good to me!;)We'll have to try this out. Love it!

I do believe I would like to make a perchase, The house by the Mints would suit me just fine. Its been ever so rainy and wet over here in Virginia. I would like to fine a nice dry place to stay!
Mr Frog sounds like he will be heading over to see you, I hope his carrying enough cash, I wouldn't let him take my checkbook. ; )
I love the Houses! Great idea!

Maybe this is why I haven't seen a toad at our house since we moved here. No toad house!
We had a big fat toad that lived inside a cinderblock at our old house.
You must have very happy toads!
Your girls are so creative:)

What a lovely idea, I think we will make some of these for our green tree frogs, they love to live in flowerpots anyway so I am sure they will love a designer decorated one-

That is SO cute! We don't have too many toads around either, but maybe something else needs a home? I think I even have a few empty plastic pots around. :)

Omg! I want to make one right now! How beautiful!

GREAT idea! We have a store-bought, terracotta toad house that just doesn't work. We do get toads, just not in the house. The door is too small, the terracotta too porous, and it has all but disintegrated after one winter outside.

Does anyone know of a good toad fingerplay or verse? I'm doing a co-op class on toads tomorrow, but I can't seem to find very many Waldorf-y toad poems.
