How wonderful to discover these treasures of insects and toads around your garden and vegetable patch... We often also go down to our vegetable patch and find some wonderful creatures there. I love your basket of herbs, beautiful...
These photos are so beautiful. Here in Maine the sun is making only an occasional appearance, nothing a child can count on (or a Mom). But these photos make me smile. Thank you so much. I especially LOVE the first one. I makes me want to draw it. Could I? I'll send you the original art when I finish if I could use the image (I create from looking at your beautiful photo)for greeting cards etc. that I sell on Etsy. I usually work from photos I take but this is so precious and I think it would be a sweet cut paper design. Let me know how you feel. My blog is Montessori Mama and my Etsy shop is by the same name, to see samples of my work. In PEACE Jennifer
Oh, I agree. Petting sleeping bees is magical. I spent my childhood chasing bees, watching them very intently. Isn't it ironic that with my love of fuzzbutt bees, my signif other is terrified of them?
what a lovely garden you have it reminds me of the one Peter Rabbit visited:-) Though I thinkk yours looks like rabbits would be welcomed there without fear of being made into soup:-)
My middle daughter Grace is always catching bumble bees and petting them too.
Oh, Lisa! What a beautiful post : ) My father always stops to 'pet' the bumblebees my children are always amazed when they are able to do this. Looks like a pretty perfect summer day!
Lisa, Such beautiful bumblebee stroking pictures. YOur garden is looking great and such wonderful herb gathering. My boys would so love to come across a toad. They discovered a happy frog hopping about a field earlier this week. But a toad would really be something to them! Enjoy your weekend.

Oh look at those herbs! And the vegies...I get very excited by this sort of thing. Beautiful pictures...and that's a very large toad I must say.
That's a brave girl you have there, touching the bee. The basket full of herbs is just lovely. :)
Looks like we had the same day today! :)
I had my gathering basket out as well.

Now that is one basket of herbs! I can almost smell it. Your patch is looking great!
Yes, that looks like a sleepy, happy toad. Perfect summer day in my book too. What are you going to do with all of those herbs??
Happy 4th!

Your posts are such a breath of fresh air. :)
We don't have toads in our yard. Wonder why? We did at our old house.
Your harvest of herbs looks wonderful!

Beautiful pictures! We have a toad like that, that likes to hang out on the mat right outside our door at night.
