Ode to a Grasshopper

Fauna found this gorgeous grasshopper today amongst the oak leaves. She has always found them fascinating and wanted to dedicate this poem to the little creature.

The grasshopper, the grasshopper
I will explain to you:
He is the brownies' racehorse,
The fairies' kangaroo.
By Vachel Lindsay

**Click on the photos to get a really close up look of him. He has a very animated face.

that is so cool. How do you find these things? I have seen quite many grasshopper when I was in China, but not so much in the US.

But then, my friend in FL. just saw an Armadillo roaming... wow! not sure if I want to meet one... don't know much about them.

Great photos, I never seem to be able to catch pics of birds and bugs. Once I have camera in hand - off they go! :)
